Create a service

A service is something you bill for but don’t hold in stock — consulting, a subscription, labour. It needs only a revenue account, so it’s the simplest product to set up.

Start a new product.

From Products, open the catalogue and choose "New product".

mujez has four product types: a service (billed, not stocked), a stocked good (held in a warehouse), a prescription product (regulated, with compliance fields), and a kit (a composite built from other products). The type you pick decides which fields appear.

Set the type to Service.

Give it a code, name, and unit of measure (such as Hour), and choose the Service type. Inventory tracking stays off and the stock fields don’t appear.

Choose the revenue account and save.

Pick the revenue account the service sells against, then save. It opens as a draft — activate it when you’re ready to add it to quotations and invoices.
