Set up your chart of accounts

Your chart of accounts is the backbone of the ledger. Start from a ready-made industry template, then review the accounts it creates.

Open the Chart of Accounts.

From the General Ledger, choose Chart of Accounts. A new entity starts empty.

Click "Use template".

The template picker lists ready-made charts by industry.

Choose the template that fits your business.

Each template shows how many accounts it will create. Select one and confirm.

Review your new chart of accounts.

The accounts appear as an expandable tree. Expand a group to see its child accounts.

You can always add accounts manually later — the template is only a starting point.
