HR & Payroll
Manage your people and pay them: build your organisation, add and activate employees, run and post payroll, disburse pay and issue payslips, file statutory reports, handle leave, loans, and off-boarding, and let staff self-serve.
Build your organisation
Your organisation is the structure your people sit in — units (departments and branches) and the positions within them. Set it up first so every employee has a place and a role.
Create an employee
Add a person to your workforce. A new employee starts as a draft, so you can finish their profile before activating them for payroll.
Complete an employee profile and activate
A draft employee needs the essentials before they can be activated and paid — a pay structure, a bank account, and identity documents. The detail page has a section for each; fill them, then activate.
Manage employment contracts
An employment contract records the terms an employee works under — type, dates, hours, probation, and notice. Create one per employee and activate it; you can later end or renew it.
Track expiring documents
mujez watches your employees’ documents — IDs, permits, visas — and flags the ones approaching expiry at the top of the employee list so you can renew them in time.
Set up pay elements
Pay elements are the building blocks of a salary — earnings like basic pay and allowances, and deductions like loan recovery. Define them once; each carries its tax, social-insurance, and end-of-service treatment.
Run payroll
A payroll run takes a pay period from a draft to posted: build it, calculate everyone’s pay, submit it for approval, have a second person approve it, then post it to the ledger.
Disburse payroll
Once a run is posted, disburse it to settle the net pay payable — recording the bank payment that pays your employees.
View payslips
After a run is posted, each employee gets a payslip. Staff see their own under My workspace; HR sees an employee’s history on their profile. Payslips download as PDFs once rendered.
Payroll reports
Once a run is posted, the reports give you the payroll register (every payslip with earnings, deductions, and net), statutory contributions for filing, and reconciliations of end-of-service and the ledger.
Export the wage-protection file
Many jurisdictions require salaries to be paid through a wage-protection system. mujez generates the bank-ready file from a posted run, using each employee’s IBAN and your establishment details.
Payroll analytics
Analytics summarise your workforce and its cost over a period — headcount, joiners and leavers, turnover, and payroll cost, broken down by department and cost centre.
Review statutory rule packs
A statutory rule pack holds the legal parameters for a jurisdiction — social-insurance rates, end-of-service bands, and statutory leave. mujez ships defaults for Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt; review them so payroll calculates correctly.
Manage leave types
Leave types define what your people can take off — annual, sick, study, and more — with how each accrues, its entitlement, and how much carries over.
Request leave
Record a leave request for an employee — the type, the dates, and an optional note. It’s submitted for approval and tracked through to a decision.
Approve leave
Submitted leave requests wait in the approvals queue. A manager — someone other than the person who raised it — approves or rejects each one.
Give an employee a loan
Record a loan or a salary advance for an employee. mujez recovers it automatically from payroll over the installments you set — a single deduction for an advance, or several for a loan.
Off-board an employee
When someone leaves, end their employment from their profile — set the termination date, reason, and how notice is handled. mujez computes the final settlement, including end-of-service.
Review end-of-service liability
End-of-service benefit accrues for your people as payroll runs post. The liability report shows the total accrued and the amount carried for each employee, so you always know what you owe.
Use the self-service portal
My workspace is each employee’s own view — their profile, leave balances, payslips, and the change requests they’ve raised. Staff manage their own details here without going through HR for everything.
Approve change requests
When employees ask to change their personal or bank details from self-service, the requests land in an HR review queue. A reviewer — not the person who raised it — approves or rejects each one; approving applies the change.
